Asaba Development Union (ADU) Worldwide on Wednesday honoured Asaba sons and daughters in political offices at a reception organized for them by the union.
In an address on the occasion, the President General of the union, Professor Epiphany Azinge, felicitated with the appointees, explaining that ADU under his leadership had pledged to celebrate and support Asaba sons and daughters in positions of authority.

Professor Azinge said the appointees were expected to be accountable and answerable to the people, adding that the event was a bonding process between the political office holders and Asaba people.
He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing an illustrious daughter of Asaba, Dr. Anene – Okeakwa, as Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Asaba, and expressed confidence in her ability to perform.

The ADU President General also thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for finding some Asaba indigenes worthy to serve in his administration, assuring that the Asaba community would closely monitor the activities of the appointees to ensure the justified the confidence reposed in them.
The Asagba of Asaba, Obi Chile Edozien, represented by the Onihe of Asaba, Ogbueshi Ubaka Attoh, thanked ADU worldwide for celebrating their own, which he said would encourage them to serve the people and the state better.

Obi Edozien sued for greater unity among the people of Asaba and urged the appointees to be good ambassadors of the Asaba community and use their positions to positively touch lives.
Those honoured include Honourable Shedrack Rapu, Engineer Smart Meka,Dr Anene- Okeakwa, Ogbueshi Akaeze Ibonye, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, among others.
