Aviara Secondary Commercial School, Aviara, also known as AviaGram, in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, is to be formally inaugurated on December 30, 2019.

The date was proposed by some old students of the school who met at the Petroleum Training Institute Conference Hall on Sunday, 15th December, 2019 to seek a way of reconnecting with one another after parting ways in the 41 year old school.

An old student, Charles Arugba  who has been working on the reunification plan, recalled that the school was established in 1978 with Mr Daniel Iniaghe as pioneer principal from 1978 to 1980, while Mr Agbaragu, who was principal from 1980 to 1983 produced the first set of School Certificate graduates.

Charles Arugba said the college, with “Honesty and Hardworking” as its motto, was known for discipline, academic and sporting excellence, adding that the school had produced graduates in various spheres of life, including Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, Administrators, Chartered Accountants, Academicians, Distinguished Politicians, General Oversearers of Churches, Captain of industries among others.

Another facilitator of the planned inauguration, Charles Jombo, said the whole idea of the reunion was for the old students to give back to the school that made them, and also to reconnect with their contemporaries (Classmates).

Jombo said a WhatsApp group with a link had been in place since 2018 for all Alumni’s to join.

All old students of AviaGram in the state and beyond have been requested to contact the undersigned for enquiries and contributions towards achieving the set objectives of the Alma matar.
