Women in the state have been asked to be more active in politics as the gains are far reaching.
The leader of Ossissa Ladies Vanguard, Mrs Rose Chalichali, made the call in Asaba in an interview with newsmen.
Mrs Chalichali said besides the possibility of being appointed into political offices, the women could benefit from the appointment of their husbands or through the various programmes designed to empower their children.
She commended the doggedness of women in the political front, stressing that they had always used their numerical strength to the advantage of the PDP and its candidates during elections.
The Ossissa Ladies Vanguard leader thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the appointment of sons and daughters of Ndokwa east into positions of authority, describing the reappointment of Chief Emmanuel Onyeukwu as Chairman of Council, College of Education Agbor as a good omen for the people of Ndokwa east and the Ndokwa nation at large.
Mr Chalichali assured Governor Okowa of the continued support of Ossissa women towards the implementation of the policies and programmes of his administration and commended the Governor for his giant developmental strides..
She, however, appealed to him to give women more opportunities to serve in his government to enable them contribute more to the development of the state.
