ONWO PRESENTS SCORE CARD, PROMISES MORE ROBUST REPRESENTATION

The member representing Isoko South Constituency Two in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Ferguson Onwo, has restated the irrevocable commitment of the state government to enhancing the quality of life and infrastructure in the state.


Honourable Onwo, who gave the assurance at Olomoro at his maiden constituency briefing six months after he was inaugurated as a member of the seventh Delta State House of Assembly, said attracting development to the constituency remained a top priority.


Flanked by PDP leaders and elders in the constituency, the Lawmaker stated that the briefing was in line with democratic tenets and in keeping with his campaign promise to connect with the grassroots and keep in constant touch if elected.


Honourable Onwo explained further that the meeting was an opportunity to give account of his stewardship in the last six months in office to enable the people assess his performance and present challenges facing the constituency for possible solutions.


The Lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Women Affairs, and a member of several other committees including DESOPADEC, said his election into the Delta State House of Assembly had enhanced his drive for the development of communities across the constituency and their people.


Honourable Onwo disclosed that thirty-eight constituents were sponsored for training at Bio-rescources Development Center, Odi, Bayelsa state to acquire skills, stressing that they had since completed the training programs waiting to be empowered.


He said apart from the four statutory aides attached to his office as a member of the House of Assembly, he appointed over twenty-two persons as Political Aides across the constituency including Ward Liaison Officers.


Honourable Onwo also disclosed other appointments he influenced to the constituency, including those of two persons as Liaison Officers as approved by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and one as member of Delta State Waterways and Land Security Committee.


The Lawmaker thanked the people for the opportunity given him to represent the constituency and pledged to serve them better.


The Chairman, PDP Delta South, Chief Julius Takeme, expressed gratitude to the Isoko nation for their unflinching support for PDP, and assured them of more developmental projects from the Okowa administration.


While welcoming the Isoko South II APC House of Assembly candidate for the 2019 election, Mr Isreal Umueri back to PDP, Chief Takeme urged the people to sustain their support for Honourable Ferguson Onwo.


Notable politicians in the constituency at the briefing including retired General Paul Omu, Chief Solomon Ogba, Chief Richard Olulu, Chief Emeakpor Owhe, Dr Godwin Adolor, Mike Edegware, Emamusi Obiodeh, Chief Ukiho, Chief Gabriel Erueme, Chief Amos Okoro, Chief Mike Usige and the Vice Chairman, Isoko South, Honourable Alex Ebah, described the Constituency briefing as a step in the right direction and commended Onwo for the initiative.


Others among whom are PDP leaders, wards Chairmen and liaison officers, also spoke in the same vein and acknowledged the efforts of Hon Onwo to enhance quality of life in Isoko South 11 Constituency.
