Delta Community Youth Association has risen from its first meeting after the general elections, with a vote of confidence on the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
Addressing the meeting, the Director General of the association, Honourable Innocent Esewezie, thanked Delta youths for their role before and during the elections.
He reminded the youth that the end of one election was the beginning of another, urging them to remain committed to advancing the cause of PDP in the state ahead of the 2023 elections.
Honourable Esewezie, who is also Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, advised the youth to shun acts inimical to progress, adding that they should focus on building their capacities, using their present positions and engagements.
The DG commended Governor Okowa for the youth friendly policies and programmes of his administration, and for giving youths of Delta state hope through appointment and other forms of engagement.
He assured the Governor of the continued support of youths in the state in his quest for a Stronger Delta that would create more opportunities for the youth to realize their potentials.
Some of the youth leaders who spoke in separate interviews, said they were satisfied with the disposition of the Governor to enhancing the wellbeing of youths through meaningful engagements.
They thanked the Governor for appointing youths into various positions of authority and appealed to him not to relent in fulfilling his campaign promises.
The meeting was attended by the State Organising Secretary of the PDP, Honourable Sunday Onoriode and the Oshimili south local government area chairman of the party, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, among others.
