Political Support Groups in Delta state have again been assured that their roles in the last general election will not go unrewarded.
The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta state, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, gave the assurance while playing host to members of the Ulor Ru Ulor Social Political Group.
Honourable Solomon said the choice of Senator Okowa as Governor meant well for the people of Delta state, as he had demonstrated the capacity to deliver on his campaign promises aimed at spreading the dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state.
He particularly commended the Ulor Ru Ulor group for working so hard to ensure Governor Okowa’s victory in the election, stressing that the size and composition of the group was instructive of the determination to succeed in its set goal.
The Senior Political Adviser urged the group to continue to support the Governor by propagating his good works, adding that the body should assist in advocating the Stronger Delta vision of the Okowa administration.
Earlier, the convener of the group and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Emeke Egwuanimkwu, said members were not just people of like minds, but committed faithful of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Egwuanimkwu said the group was primarily founded to canvass support for the Governor and to win back aggrieved members of PDP in order to strengthen the party for electoral victory.
He pleaded with the Senior POLAD to ensure that the group was not left out in the scheme of things, in appreciation of its role before and during the election.
