Two former members of the Delta State House of Assembly on Monday paid a familiarisation visit to the Office of Project Implementation and Evaluation in Asaba.

They are Honourable Alphonsus Ojo, who representwd Ukwuani constituency and Honourable Benjamin Efekodo, who once represented Isoko south one constituency in the State Assembly.

Conducting the duo round the Office complex, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Implementation and Evaluation, Honourable Johnson Erijo told them that the office was charged with the responsibility of ensuring appropriate pricing and quality delivery of all government projects.

He said the Office, with professionals in various engineering fields, would stop at nothing in ensuring value for money in the delivery of projects, adding that there would be no room for compromise in the discharge of its duties.

Honourable Erijo, who represented Isoko south two constituency in the House, said project monitoring would be centrally controlled from the Office to ensure uniformity and standards.

The Special Adviser told his former colleagues that the Office would, by its mandate, contribute to the building of a Stronger Delta by ensuring that every project stood the test of time, as the narrative of failed projects was not good for the image of the state.

He said all stakeholders would be appropriately sensitized on the direction of the Office so as to guarantee a seamless operation.

Honourables Ojo and Efekodo commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the harvest of projects across the state and expressed confidence in the capacity of Honourable Erijo to lead the State Project Implementation team.
