Christians have been asked to develop a positive attitude towards thanksgiving if they must earn the love of God.

A guest preacher, Reverend Paul Okwuobi, of the Anglican Church of the Pentecost, Akwuebulu quarters, Asaba, made the call on Sunday in a sermon at the 2019 Annual General Harvest Thanksgiving Service of Christ Anglican Church, Okpanam, Delta state.

Reverend Okwuobi, who preached on the theme: ” Harvest of Heavenly Credited Account “, said God had prepared every individual for his or her endeavour, adding that without God there would be no success to celebrate.

The clergyman maintained that the gift of life was the greatest miracle every Christian must appreciate God for, stressing that thanksgiving should be cheerfully and ungrudgingly done for it to have the desired effect.

He criticised those who often complained about giving to support the church, and warned that such persons could by their utterances destroy their destiny.

Reverend Okwuobi, who pointed out that money could hardly be divorced from the work of God, said it was better for anyone not willing to give to keep quiet than speak against efforts by his or her church to develop.

The guest preacher commended the Vicar, clergy and laity of Christ Anglican Church, Okpanam, for the spiritual and infrastructural growth of the church and urged them to remain united and focused on winning souls for Christ.

The Vicar and Parish Priest of the church, Reverend Benjamin Okolotu, said every Christian should invest in the work of God the giver of life and all earthly possessions.

Reverend Okolotu said the theme for the harvest was chosen because the best place to save money was in heaven through the work of God, stressing that heavenly credited account never suffered any loss to thieves or disaster.

The service featured general and special thanksgiving, as well as harvest thanksgiving by the various groups in the church.
