Fire has razed St. Peter’s Catholic Church,Nnewi-Ichi, Uruagu, Nnewi north local government area of Anambra state, killing the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Edmond Nwagbara.
Fire fighters from the Anambra State Fire Service said they received a distress call about 3:46 am on Saturday 16th November and moved quickly to the scene to contain the situation.
They, however, said the Parish Priest Reverend Father Edmond Nwagbara, was rescued death in his room from where the fire was said to have started.
As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the inferno had yet to be ascertained, while the charred remains of the priest had been taken evacuated to the mortuary.
