Contract awarding Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government in Delta state have been told to be prepared to embrace the new era of high standards in project execution in the state.
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta state on Project Implementation and Evaluation, Honourable (Prince) Johnson Erijo, gave the charge in an interview with gallantreporters in Asaba.

Honourable Erijo said the era when contractors in Delta state delivered poor quality jobs, be they supplies or construction, was over as government was set to leave a legacy of excellence and perfection in all its projects, pursuant to the Stronger Delta vision.
He said his office would soon embark on a sensitization programme to keep all critical stakeholders abreast of the new order, pointing out that the MDAs, contractors, communities, among others, would be involved to ensure seamlessdelivery of standard projects that would stand the test of time and add value to the lives of the people.
Honourable Erijo emphasised that the Project Implementation and Evaluation office would be looking at the pricing of jobs, compliance with specifications by contractors, quality of materials used or to be used, adding that communities would be required to follow up on projects in their domains and give feedback to government.

The Special Adviser stressed that there would be no room for compromise and advised contract awarding Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state to be guided by the new order, while warning that government would henceforth not pay for any sub standard job.
Honourable Erijo assured that his office would not witch hunt any contractor, but would insist on acceptable standards no matter whose ox is gored.
