Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ward 7 Umuagu, in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, has commended the area’s Chairman of the party, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, for providing good leadership for the party.
The ward chairman, Comrade Michael Odiatu, made the remark when the Local Government Area party executive, led by Ogbueshi Okonji visited as part of the ongoing ward visitation by the leadership of the party.
Comrade Odiatu noted that Dada Okonji had done well as LGA party chairman and thanked other party leaders for their support for the ward, promising to mobilize support for the ward executive.
In their remarks, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters, Ogbueshi Cassidy Iloba and former Onoi of Ahaba, Eso Yaya, said they were impressed with the development of the party in the local government area since the assumption of Ogbueshi Okonji as chairman, noting that several opposition members had decamped to the PDP.
Others, who spoke, including Obi Okunwa Odiaka, Ogbueshi Akaeze Ibonye and Ogbueshi Charles Halim, declared that Ogbueshi Okonji was a focused and accommodating leader who had piloted the affairs of the party to greater heights.
Also speaking, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment, Mr. Darlington Ijeh, said Okonji had selflessly served the party and people of Oshimili South and commended the people of ward seven for their confidence in him.
Addressing the gathering, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji thanked the people of ward seven for their contributions to the growth of the party, assuring them that Governor Okowa would complete all ongoing projects in the local government area and embark on new ones.
He prayed for the Governor and his cabinet members, contending that God had used Senator Okowa to touch the lives of the people.
Highlight of the visit was the endorsement of Ogbueshi Okonji for a second term as party chairman by the leadership and members of PDP ward seven.
