A lay preacher in the Anglican Communion has called on Christians to be friendly to God and always put him above other considerations.

Sir Anthony Ojie of Christ Anglican Church, Okpanam, Delta state, made the call in a message entitled “Don’t Focus On The Wrong Side”.

He said as friends of God Christians should be of exemplary conduct, obedient to his will and make sacrifices that would promote the growth of the church and soul winning.

The preacher stressed the need for believers to work by faith and surrender all their challenges to God, who alone had solutions to every problem.

Sir Ojie said focusing on the wrong side meant engaging in actions or inactions that tended to offend God, adding that many had sinned and fallen short of God.

He blamed moral decadence in the society on some parents who had misled their children to the wrong side of life, giving rise to cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, cyber crime, prostitution, among other vices.

The lay preacher reminded Christians about the shortness of life and that everything on earth was vanity, urging those of questionable characters to change their lifestyles if they must make heaven.
Sir Ojie said every Christian must seek the grace of God to be able to finish strong in the heavenly race.

The Curate of the church, Reverend Daniel Edozie, led the congregation in prayers at the service, which featured general and family thanksgiving.
