Deputy Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata, says the 2020 proposed budget now before the Assembly will promote fiscal discipline and accountability in the state.
Honourable Ighrakpata, who represents Uvwie Constituency in the House and Chairman, House Committee on Special Duties, said the budget when approved would help achieve the stronger Delta vision of the Okowa administration.
The Lawmaker described the proposed budget anchored on Peace, Progress and Prosperity, as tone of hope and sustainable development, saying that the vision to industrialize the state was commendable.
He expressed optimism that the proposed budget would accelerate rural and urban integration, urban renewal and growth through the provision of basic infrastructure.
Honourable Ighrakpata stated that many ongoing projects would be completed next year as seventy five percent of the two hundred and seventeen point six billion naira of the capital expenditure was for completion of on going projects across the state.
The Lawmaker noted that the Uvwie-Warri Storm Project was a Master Stroke expected to commence in the first quarter of next year as it was captured in the proposed budget.
