The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Police Command, Adeyinka Adeleke, has ordered water tight security around mosques and other public places of interest in Delta during the Eid – el Maulud celebration.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, says the CP has also directed the deployment of adequate operational manpower to strategic locations in the state during the festival.
The Command enjoined members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious person or movement to it or any other security agency to prevent any untoward situation.
It congratulated Muslims on the occasion of the celebration of the 2019 Eid-el-Maulud in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad and urged them to live within the virtues and teachings of the Holy prophet.
