The remains of late Ogbueshi Jide Felix Monu have been buried in his family compound, 8, Agala street, Umuaji Asaba.
The burial rites started with a service of songs on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.
Pastor Alex Juwah who ministered on the occasion, said death was inevitable and everyone must be prepared for his last day by living a good life for which he would be remembered.
He described the late Ogbueshi Jide Monu as a peaceful man lived a fulfilled life and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.
The burial ceremony continued on Thursday, October 31, with a funeral service at the family compound, followed by interment during which the children, Fumnanya and Oseloka, performed the traditional dust to dust rite.
In an interview, the children of the deceased paid tribute to their late whom they said they would greatly miss.
A reception was later organized for guests at the Ajaji alter arena, Umuaji King street, Asaba.
The event was attended by delegations of various notable groups, including the Asaba Development Union worldwide led by Professor Epiphany Azinge, the Otu Ihaza Ahaba, 2006 to 2016 group led by Ogbueshi Eso Yaya, the Odu Enyi Group, the Nigerian League of Women Voters led by the National President, Dr Esther Uduehi and the Forum of Non Sitting Members of the Delta State House of Assembly led by Honourable Aneke Ifemeni.
Also in attendance were John Best who represented former Governor James Ibori, the Chairperson, Forum of Chairpersons of State Chapters of NLOWV, Honourable Lizzy Ativie, Coordinator of the 25 Local Government Coordinators of the group, Mrs Faith Majemite, Chairman, Forum of former State Chairmen of ALGON, Ashikpa Gilbert, Chairman Fellows of NIM, Mr Emma Okafor, a delegation of staff of the State Urban Water Board from where the deceased retired, family members of the Monu and Chukwurah families of Asaba.
