The people of Ndokwa nation of Delta state have been urged to remain consistent in their support for the PDP.
The Senior Political Adviser to the Delta state Governor, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, made the call when a delegation of the Ndokwa Youth Political Vanguard for Okowa/Atiku 2019 paid him a courtesy visit in Asaba.
He said Ndokwa people had demonstrated self restraint even when their sons were fielded as Deputy Governorship candidates of opposition political parties, stressing that they could only but remain with the PDP because they had benefitted immensely from the Okowa administration.
Honourable Solomon cited the Kwale Industrial Park for which the state government had struck a deal with foreign investors, pointing out that the project when operational would launch Kwale and indeed the Ndokwa nation into global reckoning, with its capacity to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
The Senior Political Adviser enjoined members of the Ndokwa Youth Political Vanguard to see themselves as advocates of peace and unity so as to guarantee a conducive environment for would be investors in the proposed Kwale Industrial Park.
He urged them to support their leaders, particularly elected and appointed representatives in government to attract dividends of democracy to the area, assuring that the group would not be forgotten in the scheme of things.
The coordinator of the group, Godfrey Achi, said the visit was to congratulate the Senior Political Adviser on his appointment and to solicit recognition of the body after working with the state PDP to secure victory for the party in the 2019 election.
Achi thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his interest in the development of the Ndokwa nation and pledged the group’s support for the Kwale Industrial Park project.
