Worried by the chaotic traffic situation at the Koka Junction – Oshimili south local government secretariat stretch of the Onitsha – Benin expressway, an Asaba based Civil Engineering firm, Bube-Dan Global Resources limited, has chosen to do what FERMA has failed to do.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, the firm rolled out bulldozers to evacuate the debris on both sides of the said stretch, which had reduced the dual carriage way to single lanes thereby constantly obstructing vehicular movement on the ever busy road.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Engineering firm, Mr Ifeanyi Nkeki, explained that his organization was worried over the obstruction of traffic on that section of the road as a result of heaps of debris that covered both sides of the roads.
He said the intervention was a palliative measure to ameliorate the pains of motorists, adding that his firm had earlier carried out repairs on the u-turn at the same stretch of the road, which was in a deplorable condition before the intervention.

Nkeki noted that the bad portion of the road had caused considerable damage to vehicles, pointing out that the palliative measure would help the situation, pending full rehabilitation by the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA.

He stated that with the requisite synergy and agreement with relevant government agencies, Bube – Dan Global Resources could extend its intervention to0 other parts of the state.
He promised that the firm would remain committed to driving its Corporate Social Responsibility to guarantee a better society.
Motorists commended the palliative measures and appealed for regular maintenance of the road by the relevant authority.
