OSHIMILI SOUTH PDP HAILS OKOWA FOR SPREAD OF APPOINTMENTS

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Oshimili South Local Government Area chapter, has expressed gratitude to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the political appointments spread across the 14 wards in the area.


Addressing an enlarged meeting of party faithful in Asaba, the Chairman of the Party, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, also commended the Governor for his developmental strides in the local government area since his assumption of office in 2015.


He urged members not to relent in their support for the Okowa administration to ensure the realization of the Stronger Delta vision, even as he stressed the need for respect for the party’s hierarchy.


Dada Okonji spoke on the importance of regular meetings at the local government area and ward levels to keep members a breast of happenings in the polity.


In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor,  commended the leadership of the party at the local government level and harped on the need for regular interface to strengthen the PDP at the grassroots.


In the same vein, the former Commissioner in the state, Alanza Uche Ugboma, urged members of the party to participate and contribute their ideas towards the advancement of the party, stressing that though appointment would not get to everybody, members could be rewarded for their efforts in other forms.


The meeting was attended by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye, member representing the Oshimili South Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Shedrack Rapu, among other government functionaries and aides of Governor Okowa.
