The Delta State House of Assembly has promised to take steps that will ensure the delivery of quality road infrastructure in the state.
The Chairman House Committee on Works, Honourable Emeke Nwaobi, who made the promise at the inaugural meeting of the committee at the Assembly Complex in Asaba, said there was the need for good network of roads across the state.
Honourable Nwaobi, an Engineer, who represents Aniocha north in the House, said the state legislature would continue to compliment the efforts of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in enthroning enduring legacies in the state.
The Lawmaker noted that road infrastructure was key to assessing the performance of any government, hence the need for critical stakeholders to collaborate towards achieving laudable landmarks.
Honourable Nwaobi commended the resilience of the state government in the area of road construction and rehabilitation, which he said had earned the Governor the appellation “Road Master”.
He expressed the desire of his Committee to ensure that the Governor surpassed the achievements recorded in the Works sector in his first tenure in office.
The Works Committee Chairman noted that members of the committee were carefully selected in view of the onerous task ahead and appealed to them to put in the best to enable the Committee to succeed.
Honourable Nwaobi assured Deltans of improved road infrastructure in the state as his Committee was irrevocably committed to performing its oversight functions.
