Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has urged the Organized Labour to always disseminate appropriate information to the workforce to engender industrial harmony in the polity.
He made the call in Asaba on Wednesday while receiving the new Executive Council members of the state chapter of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), who visited him.
The Governor reminded the labour leaders that they needed to work hard and make their mark to be recognised and appreciated by the people.
He said for the society to progress, there should be a peaceful environment in the work place, stressing that there has to be real partnership between government and workers for people to enjoy the benefits of government.
Governor Okowa re-assured Deltans and the working class that his administration would do is best to uplift their standard of living and ensure development in the state.
He renewed his promise to pay the new minimum wage once negotiations between the federal government and the organized labour were finalized.
Earlier, the state Chairman of TUC, Comrade Martins Bolum, thanked the Governor for the numerous achievements of his administration, and pledged that trade unions would assist in enlightening workers on government activities.
Comrade Bolum said the body would partner with government to deliver the best to Deltans.
