The Delta State Bureau of Orientation has been urged to raise the awareness of Deltans about the activities of government as a way of advancing political development in the state.

The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta state, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, made the call on Monday in Asaba when the Director General of the Delta State Bureau of Orientation, Barrister Eugene Uzum, led officials of the Bureau on a visit to his office.

Honourable Solomon said the Okowa administration was doing a lot which should be brought to the attention of Deltans, adding that the Bureau needed to adequately sensitive the people on the workings of government and feed the government back with their challenges and feelings in order to guarantee good governance.

He stated that the Stronger Delta project needed a robust political machinery that would give opportunities to every critical stakeholder to make inputs, suggesting that the Bureau should partner the Office of the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor to make the project work.

Honourable Solomon commended the Orientation Bureau for the impressive impact it had made in the campaign against social vices among youths and urged the organisation to do more in advocating the sustainability of the rotation arrangement that had brought about political stability, equity, fairness and justice in the state.

The Director General of the Bureau, Barrister Eugene Uzum, commended the vibrancy and pro activeness of the Senior Political Adviser in piloting the affairs of his office, adding that his role as Director General of the State PDP Campaign Organisation was instrumental to the party’s overwhelming victory in the general election.

Barrister Uzum said besides the ongoing campaign against social vices, the Bureau was focusing on changing the Orientation of the people towards governance by properly educating them on the workings of government and feeling the pulses with a view to getting feed backs that would enhance good governance.

He solicited the support of the Office of the Senior POLAD in changing the mindset of the people, assuring that the Bureau would not renege in its mandate to reorientate the people towards imbibing positive values for the overall good of the state.
