He Said the founding fathers of modern Nigeria like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe , Alhaji Tafawa Belewa and Chief Obafemi Awolowo bequeathed a legacy of integrity and called for a collective national conscience that would promote moral rectitude and strengthen unity , peace and diversity as citizens’ common patrimony.
Ned said Nigerians must work for the peace, unity and progress of the nation and shun corruption, greed, sectarian and tribal sentiments in the nation’s search for self identity in the face of daunting social, political and economic challenges.
“As compatriots, sincerity of purpose should be our goal towards a new Nigeria” Ned Nwoko noted.
The foremost philanthropist said the task of nation building required the zeal of all Nigerians irrespective of class, origin, creed or political leaning and expressed optimism that the nation would surmount its constraints with patriotic latitude.
While congratulating Nigerians on the independence anniversary, Nwoko said the natural potentials of Nigeria and the human talents that abound marked her out as a promising nation in the global community.
He counseled that as citizens looked forward to a better tomorrow, dignity of labour must take preeminence in Nigeria.
