Political parties in the state have been urged to partner with the state government in the realization of set goals that will benefit all Deltans.

The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta state, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, made the call on Thursday in Asaba on a live Delta Television sunrise programme, “GOLDEN RIDE.”

He said politics was all about impacting positively on the lives of the people through the democratic process, pointing out that the Office of the Senior Political Adviser was working in partnership with the political parties to ensure that the gains of democracy were attained for the good of all.

Honourable Solomon said the Okowa administration had dutifully delivered on its mandate in its first four years through the implementation of people oriented policies and programmes, including job creation and the Contributory Health Insurance Scheme, with Delta being the first state to domesticate the scheme.

The Senior Political Adviser noted that the Okowa administration also had an impressive showing in the area of infrastructural development in both the upland and riverine communities, stressing that government was able to break the jinx of underdevelopment in riverine communities due to difficult terrain.

He said the next four years of the Okowa administration had been dedicated to achieving a Stronger Delta where everyone would enjoy peace, harmony, fairness, justice and unity of purpose, to the extent that the ethnic diversity of the state would be its strength.

Honourable Solomon described the recent Election Tribunal victory of Governor Okowa as an endorsement of the mandate freely given to him by the people during the last election, adding that it gave credibility to the work of the State PDP Campaign Organisation where he was the Director General.

The Senior Political Adviser thanked Deltans, particularly the politicians, for their support for the Okowa administration and assured them that the next four years would be more impactful to all with numerous opportunities to make life more meaningful to the people.

He, however, appealed to Deltans to be patient as government was not unmindful of their high expectations.
