Director-General, Delta State Bureau of Orientation, Barrister Eugene Uzum, has enjoined media practitioners to always insist on balancing their reports.
Barrister Uzum gave the advice when he paid a courtesy visit to Trend FM Radio Station in Asaba.

He said unbiased flow of news from media organizations would assist in bridging the gap between government and the public, adding that attitudinal change could easily come with the knowledge of the true situation of things.

The orientation helmsman said the power of the media in agenda setting was quite enormous, stressing that there was the need to ensure it was not abused through reckless reportage which could create tension or heat up the polity.

Barrister Uzum said  the Bureau would partner Trend FM in its determination to reorientate the general public towards a better understanding of government by  the people as well as curbing vices through robust reorientation of the mindset of the youth.

Responding, the General Manager of Trend FM, Ijeoma Uba, thanked the DG for the visit, saying that the campaign for mindset change should not be restricted to only the grassroots populace, but extended to civil servants and politicians

She berated some civil servants who were  in the unwholesome habit of exhibiting non challant attitude in the discharge of their duties, yet clamoring for their salaries, even before the end of month.
Ijeoma enjoined politicians to be humane in their dealings with the people, as power was transient.

She promised to partner the Bureau in its onerous task by taking its sensitization messages to the public through the station.

Barrister Uzum and his team had earlier visited the State Universal Basic Education Board in Asaba to seek the partnership of the board on how best to curb vices among students and protect school property at the primary school level across the state through proper sensitization.

The Director of Orientation and Functioning Permanent Secretary in the bureau, Mrs Stella Macaulay and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Orientation, Mr Dibia Owen Jnr, among others, accompanied Barrister Uzum on the visits.
