The Delta State Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Asaba has reaffirmed the result of the March 9, 2019 State House of Assembly election for the Okpe Constituency.

The Tribunal in its judgement ruled that the PDP candidate for the election, Honourable Sherrif Oborevwore, won the  election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Delivering judgement on the petition, Justice S.M.J Usman, said the case filed before it by the APC candidate for the election Mr Akpojaro Harrison Ogaga lacked merit.

According to the Judge, the petitioner, failed to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt.

Reacting to the judgement, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who is the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, said his faith in God never failed him and dedicated the victory to God and the people of Okpe State Constituency.

Hon Oborevwori, who extended hands of fellowship to his opponent, restated his confidence in the judiciary as the beckon of hope for the common man.

He noted that the tribunal victory was a true reflection of the wishes of his constituents, adding that the reaffirmation of his victory at the poll by the tribunal was a call to greater service.

The Speaker promised to continue to improve on the well-being of the people of the constituency.

Oborevwori thanked the people of Okpe for their continued support.
