A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ndokwa east, Chief Emmanuel Onyeukwu, has described the Election Tribunal victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a reflection of the Voice of the People, which is the Voice of God.
Chief Onyeukwu, who made the assertion shortly after the verdict in Asaba on Friday, wondered why the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Great Ogboru should challenge the result of an election he won in two out of the twenty five local government areas of the state.
He noted that support for Governor Okowa was evident across the state from the campaigns through the elections, adding that his good works in his first term in office stood him out as the man to beat in the governorship election.
Chief Onyeukwu, who is the immediate past Chairman, Governing Council of the College of Education Agbor, said Chief Ogburu should stop wasting his resources on further litigations, advising that all he needed to do now was to contribute his quota to the development of the state.
The PDP chieftain congratulated the Governor on the victory and urged him to remain focused on building a Stronger Delta that would bequeath peace, unity, fairness and justice to all irrespective of tribe, religion or political interest.
He commended the judiciary for dismissing Ogboru’s petition, which he said was intended to set the state back.
