Professionals in politics have been urged to bring their knowledge to bear in charting a course for good governance.
The Senior Political Adviser to the Delta state Governor, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, made the call in Asaba when he played host to a delegation of Network of Professionals for Atiku, Okowa.
He said the participation of professionals in politics was highly commendable as it would not only give credibility to the game of politics, but also correct the erroneous impression that politics was for the non educated.
Honourable Solomon thanked the support group for working with the PDP in the state to secure victory for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other candidates of the party in the 2019 election.
The Senior Political Adviser assured the group and indeed all other recognized support groups that their efforts would not go unrewarded, pointing out that the Okowa administration was determined to impact more positively on the lives of the people in the next four years of its second tenure.
He appealed to the body to continue to support the policies and programmes of the state government, adding that the professionals should offer advice and suggestions that would enhance good governance in their areas of competence.
The National Coordinator of the group, Pastor Alex Kenerekedi, expressed delight that the efforts of the state PDP campaign team was not in vain, stating that the group joined in the campaigns because it believed in the cause.
Pastor Kenerekedi pledged the support of the group for the Okowa administration and made a case for an appropriate reward system that would be of benefit to members of the group.
