Delta state government is to give greater impetus to its youth development initiatives in the next four years of the present administration.
This hint was dropped by the Senior Political Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, when a delegation of PDP Faithful Youth paid him a visit in Asaba.
Honourable Solomon said the first tenure of Governor Okowa recorded a significant success in youth development with YAGEP, STEP, GEEP among others, adding value to the lives of youths.
He said having established the efficacy of the existing youth empowerment programmes, government was determined to consolidate already attained heights by adopting a more coordinated approach to youth development to make it more impactful.
The Senior Political Adviser commended the youth group for its commitment to the Okowa 2019 Project and advised all youth support bodies in the state to synergize in order to harmonize their operations and be more relevant to the system.
Honourable Solomon assured the group that Governor Okowa would remain passionate about the well-being of its members and urged them to look at the future with a strong determination to succeed in life.
He reminded them about the Governor’s resolve to appoint more of youths into positions of authority, noting that so far it had been so good for Delta youths.
Earlier, the Secretary of PDP Faithful Youth, Leslie Asanegor, said the group believed in Governor Okowa and the PDP, which explained why it fully mobilized support for him during the last general election.
Asanegor pledged continued support of the group for Governor Okowa and pleaded that members of the group should be reasonably appreciated to encourage them to do more.
He commended the Governor for his youth friendly disposition and congratulated Honourable Solomon on his well deserved appointment as Senior Political Adviser.
