Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has called on the State’s Judicial Service Commission to ensure that law officers carry out their duties effectively in order to rekindle public confidence in the judicial system.

He made the call on Friday in Asaba at the swearing-in of Chief Stephen Ajusah as a member of Delta State Judicial Service Commission.

The Governor said the nation was in its trying times and people were looking up to the judiciary to carry out its duties effectively, adding that the judiciary should be fair and just in its judgements.

Okowa congratulated Chief Ajusah on his appointment, which would last for five years, noting that he was re-appointed  based on his performance in his first tenure.

In his response, Ajusah thanked the Governor for the re-appointment, assuring that he would discharge his duties to the best of his abilities in service to the state and humanity.

The State Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Umukoro and President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Stella Ogene, witnessed the ceremony.
