750 man Team Delta contingent has arrived Ilorin ahead of this year’s National Youth Games.


The team, which arrived yesterday after a nine hour journey, quickly settled in readiness to retain the title they had won since the inception of the games in 2013. 


Team Delta, who are the defending champions, will compete in thirty four events at the National Youth Games. 


Meanwhile the 2019 National Youth Games which has a record of attendance will see thirty three States competing in thirty four events. 


The games, with about five thousand athletes participating, will kick off on Tuesday with the opening ceremony, while screening of Athletes had since commenced.


Cross River, Ebonyi, Kebbi and Zamfara states did not register for the games, while team Edo will be making a strong outing for the first time since 2013 after arriving with over two hundred athletes.


Other teams already in Ilorin include,  Bayelsa, Kano, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Oyo, Borno, Jigawa, Ogun, Akwa Ibom and FCT. 

 
A report from Ilorin says that Team Delta Athletes are in high spirit ahead of the games.
