GOV OKOWA REMAINS COMMITTED TO BUILDING DELTA YOUTHS – Ezechi

The immediate past Commissioner representing the Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission,  DESOPADEC, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, has reiterated that the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is committed to building the youth in his quest for a Stronger Delta.

Honourable Ezechi, who is now an Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, made the assertion  while addressing some youths of Ndokwa nation.


He said the Okowa administration had proved itself to be youth friendly by placing a good number of youths in various leadership and political Positions in his administration, hence the need for youths in the State to reciprocate the good gesture by supporting the Governor. 

Ezechi noted that Governor Okowa believed that building the youth meant building the state and indeed the nation which explained the attention and commitment of his administration to youth development through the YAGEP and STEP programmes to make the youth self reliant and employers of labour. 


The Executive Assistant added that appointing youths into positions of authority was a sure way to prepare them for leadership role needed to face the challenges of the future, adding that the meaningfu engagement of youths in the state had taken many of them off the streets and reduced their involvement in criminal activities.


He called on youths in the state to continue to shun social vices such as cultism, drug abuse, cyber crime, prostitution among others, promising that his office would embark on enlightenment and sensitization programmes to re-orientate and change the mindset of youths towards positive values.

Ezechi thanked the Governor for the opportunity given him to serve in the capacity of Executive Assistant on Youth Development and pledged to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him.
