The Traditional Ruler of Ewulu Kingdom, Obi Godwin Onyenweuwa the first, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the appointment of three indigenes of the community into political offices.
The commendation is contained in a statement issued on behalf of the royal father by his palace Secretary, Chief Chukwuka Dege.
The Ewulu monarch congratulated Barrister Joseph Ojobu on his appointment as a Board member of the Delta State Judicial Service Commission, Mrs Christy Odimegwu as Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Development, and Chief Festus Awuta as a political aide to Honourable Austin Chikezie representing Aniocha South in the Delta State House of Assembly.
Obi Onyenwuwa described Barrister Joseph Ojobu as a legal luminary of high repute and thanked the Governor for finding him worthy to serve in his government.
He enjoined the appointees to use their wealth of experience to contribute to the development of the state and the community and admonished them to key into the “SMART AGENDA” of Governor Okowa to make his Stronger Delta vision achievable.
The Obi used the opportunity to appreciate Governor Okowa’s achievement in the area of road construction, completion and upgrading of the Asaba airport to an international standard and his commitment towards upgrading the health institutions in the state.
He, however, appealed to the Governor to consider the construction of the 7km earth road linking the community to the Asaba – Ughelli road and rehabilitate the Community Health Centre so as to cater for the health needs of his people.
