In line with the job creation initiative of the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, 36 youths of Isoko ethnic nationality have arrived Odi, Bayelsa State for skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training.
The two week program holding at the Bioresources Development Center, Odi, is being sponsored by the member representing the Isoko South Constituency Two in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Ferguson Onwo, under his Okpobrisi Sustainable Development Scheme.

Addressing the 36 youths drawn from the six wards that make up the Isoko South Constituency Two at his Constituency Office in Olomoro, Isoko South before their departure, Honourable Onwo enjoined them to make good use of the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training to acquire knowledge that would make them employers of labour.
Represented by a former Vice Chancellor, Delta State University, Abraka, Professor Abednego Ekoko, the lawmaker explained that the training program was in keeping with his campaign promise and in tandem with the SMART agenda of the Okowa administration, disclosing that the 36 participants were the first batch of beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme.

Honourable Onwo urged the trainees to be good ambassadors of the scheme, respect the culture and tradition of the host community and to make the best of the rich experience at the camp during the two week training programme.

Honourable Onwo assured that the programme would be continuous and appealed to those who could not make the first batch to be patient as they would be accommodated in subsequent programmes.

He said the participants drawn from Olomoro, Uzere, Igbide, Enwhe, Umeh, Erowha and Aviara communities were being trained in Snail and Mushroom Farming, Fish Production Technology, Grass Cutter Rearing and Macro Propagation of Banana and Plantain.
Mr Collins Enigheno who also addressed the participants, urged them to make the best use of the opportunity provided by the Delta Lawmaker to encourage him to do more for the people.
