Former Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe, has died at the age of 95.
This was announced by his successor, President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Friday (today) in a tweet.
Mnangagwa expressed sadness over the passing on of the former iron fisted leader, describing him as the founding father of Zimbabwe, an icon of liberation and a Pan Africanist who dedicated his life to the emancipation of his people.
Mugabe, who ruled Zimbabwe from 1980 to 2017, was believed to have died at the Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment since April 2019.
