Youths in the state have been commended for showing interest in governance through participation in electioneering campaigns.

The Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta state, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, gave the commendation in Asaba when a delegation of Core Delta Youths paid him a visit.

Honourable Solomon encouraged youths who would like to pursue their political interest, particularly members of the group, to register with their ward chapters of the People’s Democratic Party from where they could enter the mainstream politics.

He thanked the young men and women for joining the campaign train to the 25 local government areas of the state and assured that things would get better for them this second tenure of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The Senior Political Adviser urged them to take advantage of the youth development and empowerment programmes that were the hallmarks of Okowa’s first term in office, reiterating that the reward for contributing to the electoral victory of Governor Okowa was not all about appointment.

Honourable Solomon appealed to the Core Delta Youths to continue to support the Okowa administration to enable it achieve the envisaged Stronger Delta State where equity, fairness and justice would be at the disposal of all.

The leader of the group, Uyero Erarawewho Junior, said the visit was to pay tribute to the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor for leading a successful 2019 electioneering campaign and to felicitate with him on his appointment.

He reminded Honourable Solomon about the role the group played before and during the 2019 elections and urged him to make a case for members of the body to be remembered for their hard work.
