The youth of Ndokwa-east local government area of Delta state, under the aegis of the Ndokwa East Youth Association, NEYA, the umbrella body of youths in the council area, have commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his choice of political appointees from Ndokwa East.

NEYA’S President General, Comrade Simeon Chukwuemeka, at a general meeting of the body held in Ashaka, noted that the appointments were true reflections of the minds of Ndokwa east people.

Comrade Chukwuemeka said the appointees had the capacity to drive the policies and programmes of the Okowa administration towards actualizing the STRONGER DELTA agenda and uniting the people of Ndokwa East.

He commended the Governor for the construction of the Beneku Bridge to link Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West, saying that the project would add economic value to the area.

The NEYA PG, however, appealed to Governor Okowa to also consider the constructions of the Aboh – Akarai – Umuolu – Onyah link road and the Igbuku – Ibrede/Lagos – Iyede/Iyede – Ame/Onogbokor/Akarai link road.

Others are the Iselegu-Inyi-Onouaboh link road and the Okoh – Abala – Oshimili – Utchi – Okpai road.

Comrade Chukwuemeka said the roads would not only improve the economic life of the people by facilitating the evacuation of farm produce to urban centres, but also reduce their transportation challenges which had lingered for decades.

The Ndokwa East Youths frowned at a petition purportedly written by some uninformed persons against the Governor’s appointment of Honourable Ikechukwu Akozor into the DESOPADEC Board, describing the said petition as misleading and mischievous and as such should be disregarded.

The youths pledged their unalloyed support for the Okowa administration and all political appointees from Ndokwa east local government area.

Meanwhile, an electoral committee has been constituted to conduct the association’s forthcoming elections and oversee a smooth transition to a new administration.

The seven-man committee has Comrade Edafe Chukwusa as chairman and Comrade Martins Osakwe as secretary.

Members are Emmanuel Iwegbue, Okoro Perpetual, Andy Anukwu, Riches Akporobi and Blessing Oveh.
