A former Commissioner representing the Ndokwa nation on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Honourable Flenjo Oputa, has said the immediate past Board did a lot to live up to its mandate within the limits of available resources.

Honourable Flenjo, who is now an Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, stated this while speaking to newsmen in Asaba.

He said the interventionist agency was set up to develop oil producing areas of the state and had achieved a reasonable success in that regard despite the economic melt down that affected the operations of the immediate past Board.

The Executive Assistant stated that as the representative of the Ndokwa nation on the Board, he attracted developmental projects such as roads, water schemes, Town Hall, market, as well as empowerment and skill acquisition programmes for youths.

Flenjo debunked claims in some quarters that Ndokwa nation was being marginalised by the Okowa administration, affirming that the administration had been fair to the area in terms of appointments and other forms of democracy dividends.

He called on the people of Ndokwa nation to be appreciative of the much the Okowa administration had done and assured them that with patience more good things would come their way.

The EA hailed the establishment of the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Areas Development Agency, saying it was necessary to further drive development in the State due to the little attention given to Delta by the federal government as a result of the difference in political interest.
