Members of the Legislative Arm of the Burutu Local Government have been asked to speak for peace and harmony at all times and avoid the crack mentality.
The Senior Political Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, gave the charge in Asaba when the leadership of the Legislative Arm visited him.
He said peace was necessary for development to take place, stressing that as grassroots lawmakers they should strive to positively affect the lives of the people and strive to leave legacies that would engender their political advancement.
Honourable Solomon said the Councilors must value and understand what they wanted to achieve politically and must demonstrate the ingenuity and dexterity to make a difference in Burutu Local Government Council.
The Senior Political Adviser dwelt on the need for consistency, contentment and single minded loyalty by the Councilors, assuring them that as the political thinking cap of the state government his office would partner with them in ensuring political stability and equity in Burutu Local Government Area.
While pledging to host the Councilors, Honourable Solomon promised to look into the problems affecting the Legislative Arm.
The Leader of the Legislative Arm, Honourable Joseph Alubeze, said the visit was to congratulate the Senior Political Adviser on his appointment and to brief him on the state of affairs in the local legislature.
Honourable Alubeze, who described Honourable Solomon as a father, urged him to continue to put an eye on the Legislative Arm to guard against mistakes and political blunder.
He appealed to the Senior Political Adviser to assist in upgrading facilities in the Legislative House and pledged support for the Office of the Senior Political Adviser, and the Okowa administration.
Honourable Funkekeme Solomon hails from Ojobo, in Burutu Local Government Area.
