Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, is set to reconstitute the Boards of the Delta State Rural Development Agency and the Delta State Waste Management Board.
Pursuant to this, the Governor has transmitted to the Delta State House of Assembly two letters in which he nominated persons who would serve as chairmen and members of the two Boards.
According to the first letter, read by the Speaker, Sheriff Oborevwori who presided over plenary, the nominees for appointment into the Board of the Rural Development Agency are Chief Solomon Areyinka as Chairman, Vero Obuh, Dame Roseline Akoyere, Mr Chukwueku Mathias, Elder Ben Nwadiashi and Dio Susan as members.
The Governor said the proposed reconstitution of the Board of the Delta State Rural Development Agency followed the expiration of the tenure of the previous Board and in exercise of the powers conferred on him bysection four, sub section three of the Delta State Rural Development Agency law 2001.
The Majority Leader Honourable Tim Owhefere moved a motion for the House to receive the letter for further consideration and was seconded by Honourable Asupa Forteta.
The nominees for appointment into the Board of the Delta State Waste Management Board, as contained in the Governor’s second letter, are Honourable Emmanuel Chinye as Chairman, Mr Sylvester Oromoni, Mr Jude Onyia and Daniel Aghedo as members.
The Majority Leader, Honourable Tim Owhefere also moved a motion for the House to receive the letter for further consideration and was seconded by Honourable Pullah Ekpotuayerin.
Thereafter the Speaker, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori directed the nominees for both Boards to submit thirty five copies of their Curriculum Vitae to the office of the Clerk on or before Wednesday September 4, 2019 and appear for screening on Thursday September 5, 2019.
