Support Groups for Okowa 2019 have been charged to take up the responsibility of propagating the policies and programmes of the Okowa administration in the post election era.
The Senior Political Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, gave charge in Asaba when a delegation of the Campaign Flow for Okowa paid him a courtesy visit.
Honourable Solomon said the PDP won the elections because Deltans believed in the party, its manifesto and the capacity of its candidates to deliver, adding that the campaigns were thorough and issue based.
He said over one hundred support groups indicated interest to work with the party, but that only fifty eight were genuinely committed to the cause and made the needed sacrifice that gave the party victory without asking for anything in return.
Honourable Solomon explained that some of the support groups were themselves asking for support to be able to work for the party which ruled them out of contention.
The Senior Political Adviser congratulated the Campaign Flow for Okowa for being one of the highly rated groups, pointing out that the character and caliber of its members attested to the group’s integrity.
Honourable Solomon said the victory of Governor Okowa in the election was ordained because it came at a time Delta state needed a leader with the fear of God and thanked the support group for its contribution to the success of the PDP in the election.
He advised members of the group to key into the various empowerment programmes of the state government, assuring them that their efforts would not go unrewarded.
The Director General, Campaign Flow for Okowa, Engineer Ebenigho Ofoeyeno, said the group fully mobilized to campaign for Okowa because of his sterling qualities, adding that his first tenure impacted positively on the lives of the people.
Engineer Ofoeyeno congratulated Honourable Solomon for leading a successful campaign as DG of the State PDP Campaign Organisation and on his appointment as Senior Political Adviser to the Governor and pleaded that members of the group should be remembered in the scheme of things.
