The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on Sunday (today) said Nigeria will be better when people draw closer to God.
They spoke at the 50th birthday thanksgiving service of Pastor Emmanuel Emefienim at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Champions Cathedral, Warri.

Adeboye said the country would be a better place if the citizenry could focus more on preparing for eternity, adding that there would be no corruption in the country if everyone had the fear of God.
The cleric, therefore, urged Nigerians to focus more on things of God, saying “if we all focuse on things of God, knowing that sooner or later we will leave, the world will be a better place”.

He said people should remember that everyone was on a journey in life and must walk in the way of the Lord because one day, there would be a return journey to the creator.
According to Adeboye, ” whether we like it or not, we are going on a journey; death is not a respecter of age. We must go on the journey, and we have no choice.”

For his part, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa congratulated Emefienim for attaining 50 years of age, noting that it was a major milestone.
He described Emefienim, an Executive Director in Sterling Bank, as a humble man who had been blessed by God and had chosen to extend the blessing to people and winning souls for God.

The Governor noted that beyond winning souls, his church was doing a lot for the people and the government, adding that Pastor Emefienim was showing a great deal of love to people.
Okowa called on religious ministers to continue to impact on the less-privileged and attract the youth to God.

In a brief remark, Emefienim expressed gratitude to Adeboye, Okowa and others who attended the thanksgiving.
He said the church was proud of Okowa because he had remained a promise keeper.
