Youths of Ndokwa nation have been commended for celebrating their performing political leaders.


The state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, gave the commendation on Thursday in Kwale, Ndokwa west, at a reception organised by youths in the area to celebrate the appointment of Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi as Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development.


Governor Okowa, who was represented by his Senior Political Adviser, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, said the large turn out of youths for the event showed that Honourable Ezechi impacted positively on their lives when he served as Commissioner representing the Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Board of DESOPADEC.


He congratulated Honourable Ezechi for his life of service and humility which earned him the position of Executive Assistant and reminded all political appointees that they were being watched by the people who would either celebrate or condemn them on the day of reckoning.


The Governor maintained that the essence of any appointment was to diligently serve the people and urged the appointees to contribute to the development of the state to guarantee the attainment of a stronger Delta. 


The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, said Honourable Ezechi succeeded in his previous assignment because he had the capacity and competence to deliver on the mandate given to him. 


Egwunyenga disclosed that a Youth Summit would soon be organized to change the orientation and mindset of youths in the state towards positive values and urged the youths to look beyond their immediate environment to be able to build enough capacity that would carry them through life. 


The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, Honourable Nnamdi Ezechi, thanked Ndokwa youths for the honour done him and urged them to key into the policies and programmes of the Okowa administration aimed at enhancing their well-being.


He promised to invest more in youth development and solicited increased support for the state government.
