BUILD STRUCTURES BEFITTING TO METROPOLITAN CITIES – Uroye Urges WUSADA

The member representing the Warri South One Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Austin Uroye, has urged the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Areas Development Agency to restore sanity to the metropolis.


Honourable Uroye, who made the call while speaking with newsmen in his office in Asaba, said there was the need to make Warri, Uvwie and environs conducive for people to live in and for business to thrive.


The Lawmaker noted that Warri and Uvwie were urban towns pointing out the need to put in place structures and facilities that would befit the status of a metropolitan town.


Honourable Uroye tasked the management of the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Areas Development Agency on sanity to the area, stating that in the present situation nothing could thrive in such an environment.


He said the provision of good network of roads, electricity and enhanced environmental sanitation should be top priorities of the new agency.


The legislator, who expressed worry over the manner every street in Warri and Uvwie had been converted to commercial areas, said dirty environment, over hanging roofs, Caravans as well as street trading and the menace of tricycle riders, must be strictly addressed to restore order to the areas.


Honourable Uroye said as a one time Sanitary Officer in Warri South, Secretary to the local government and later Chairman of the council, he was  passionate about bringing sanity to the metropolis and upgrading Warri to an organized city.


The Lawmaker maintained that the vision of the Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Areas Development Agency was instructive and commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his high appetite for development.


Honourable Uroye expressed optimism that the Governor would do everything possible to see that the agency was well funded to restore the glory of its mandate areas, and appealed to the people of the area to cooperate with government to ensure the realization of set goals.
