As Delta State marked twenty eight years anniversary, some members of the State House of Assembly have spoken on the need for people of the state to be more focused and united.
The member representing Ika North East, Honourable Anthony Elekeokwuri, Ndokwa West, Honourable Charles Emetulu and Warri South West, Honourable Emomotimi Guwor said there were better days ahead of Deltans.
The Lawmakers, who spoke in separate interviews immediately after Tuesday’s plenary of the House, felicitated with Deltans on the anniversary and charged them not to relent in their support for peace and good governance in the state.
The member representing the Ika North East Constituency, Honourable Anthony Elekeokwuri, thanked God for taking the state thus far and expressed optimism of a stronger Delta.
Elekeokwuri said the SMART agenda of the present administration had placed the interest of Deltans above other considerations, maintaining that all the sectors of the state’s economy would continue to witness growth and development under the leadership of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
Honourable Charles Emetulu of the Ndokwa West Constituency, said much had been achieved in the state in the past twenty eight years, stressing that the state would witness more development with peace and stability.
Honourable Emetulu commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for scaling up development in the state and urged Deltans to continue to support the PDP led administration in the state.
For his part, Honourable Emomotimi Guwor, who represents the Warri South West Constituency in the House, acknowledged the resilience of Deltans towards a better and more developed State.
Honourable Guwor while stressing the need for sustainable peace and unity among the people, said Delta was a viable and fast growing state made possible by the prevailing peace among the people.
He said the present administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had continued to impact meaningfully on the state’s development by building on the foundation laid by previous administrations.
Honourable Guwor called on Deltans to continue to support the policies and programmes of government in order to guarantee more development
