Members of the Delta State Chapter of Class ’93, Department of Mass Communication, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, have felicitated with the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Deltans on the auspicious 28th anniversary of the creation of Delta state.

The group in a statement endorsed by Joseph Ikupa, Nkem Nwaeke and Boniface Onyedi, says the state has advanced in physical infrastructure and prayed that development becomes more rapid in the present tenure of the Okowa administration.

The group expressed joy at the engagement of one of its members, Mr Charles Aniagwu who is the State Commissioner for Information as a key cabinet member of the administration that is driving the process of building a stronger Delta State.

It says that the impeccable character and professional prowess of Mr Aniagwu are uncommon characteristics drawn from the fountain of their Alma mater, maintaining that his contributions as a member of the Delta State Executive Council will place the state on the fast lane of development.

The statement reads “28 years ago, the State was created to advance the cause of a people so blessed, yet deprived; a people so close, yet separated by conflicts of interest and underdevelopment”.

“Today, we have floated out of the depth of a drowning system by virtue of a new dawn to build a prosperous, greater and stronger Delta under the leadership of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa who has consolidated the development efforts of past leaders of the State. In 28 years, Delta has advanced in infrastructure in various sectors, including education, health, road, industry, agriculture and human capital development “.

“In all these we give God the glory and pray that development becomes more rapid in the present tenure of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State”.
