Nigeria’s Women Affairs Minister, Dame Pauline Tallen, foremost female politicians in Delta State, Dr Esther Uduehi, who is the President Nigerian League of Women Voters and former State Legislator Honourable Chinwe Monu-Olarewaju, have congratulated Deltans on the 28th anniversary of the creation of their state.
In a statement they jointly issued in Abuja, the trio noted that Delta State had come of age and the citizens had every reason to celebrate for realizing their aspiration to have a state of their own and for the steady progress the state had recorded over the past 28 years.
The female politicians said it was heartwarming that the state had remained united and progressive inspite of the ethnic differences that tended to tear the state apart at the early state of creation and commended the people of Delta for their resilience and mutual understanding.
Tallen, Uduehi and Monu-Olarewaju, paid tribute to past and present administrations in the state for their efforts to unite the people and the impressive impacts made in the development of the state.
They expressed optimism that with the present administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa the future looked bright for the State and its people, particularly women, and solicited continued support for the government to enable it deliver on good governance.
