OKOWA SALUTES SULTAN OF SOKOTO AT 63

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar the third, on his 63rd birthday anniversary. 

The Governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifejika, commended the Sultan for his untiring efforts at promoting and advancing the cause of peace, unity and meaningful development in all parts of the country.

Okowa said Nigerians at all levels appreciated the Sultan for his immense contributions to building bridges of unity and peaceful coexistence among the citizenry.

He noted that the Sultan’s timely and wise counsel on national issues had kept the nation’s leaders in check at all times, and acknowledged his exemplary role as head of Jama’atu Nasirl Islam (JNI), President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Co-Chairman of Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC).


The Governor also appreciated Sa’ad Abubakar for his support for education in Nigeria as key to the promotion and protection of human life and dignity.

Okowa pledged the cooperation, partnership and support of the government and people of Delta state for the Sultan as he continued to use his exalted throne to promote peace, unity and positive development in the Caliphate and across the country.

The Governor prayed the Almighty Allah to grant the Sultan more years of good health to continue in his numerous services to the nation.
