1993 graduates of Mass Communication, otherwise known as Class of ’93 of the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, have felicitated with one of their own, Mr Charles Aniagwu, on his elevation from the position of Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Delta State to that of Commissioner for Information.

A delegation of over 20 members of the set, led by Pastor Joseph Ikupa, a Senior Lecturer with the Delta State Polytechnic Ozoro, who was also the Class Rep of the 1993 set, visited the Commissioner in Asaba to rejoice with him.

Pastor Ikupa said the visit was to show solidarity with Charles Aniagwu who graduated with them and to appreciate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for finding him  fit, worthy and qualified to be a member of the State Executive Council.

He said the elevation of Charles Aniagwu from CPS to the Governor in the first tenure of the Okowa administration to the position of Commissioner in the second term, was a good testimony that he did well in his former position to merit the elevation.

The former Class Rep noted that products of Auchi Poly were reputed to be good, resilient, diligent and dogged in their chosen careers and indeed any endeavour they engaged in, adding that Aniagwu, whom he described as a man of destiny, exemplified a good product of a foremost and renowned citadel of learning.

Responding, Information Commissioner, Charles Aniagwu, appreciated his course mates for the visit, pledging not to take the visit for granted.

He acquainted members of the group with the policy thrust of his Ministry, stating that his primary function target was to market the Governor and the State to the outside world.

Aniagwu used the opportunity to assure Deltans that Governor Okowa was determined to do more in his second term in the development of physical infrastructure and progressively scale up the quality of life of Deltans to the point where they would be economically strong and stable.

The Commissioner assured his old school friends of his readiness to collaborate with them to relive and sustain the memories of the good old days, promising to support the group to give back to Auchi Poly as an Alumni body.

The course mates later made a presentation to the Commissioner.

On ground with the Commissioner to receive his classmates were the Functioning Permanent Secretary of his Ministry, Mr Paul Osahor, Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr. Nelson Egware, DBS Warri correspondent and member of the group, Nkem Nwaeke, among others.
