Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has called on political office holders to seek the wisdom of God to enable them succeed in meeting the yearnings of the people.
Governor Okowa made the call on Sunday ( today) at a thanksgiving service at the instance of the member representing Isoko South Constituency Two in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Ferguson Onwo at Saint Matthew’s Anglican Church Olomoro.
He said God had prepared every political office holder for a special time and for a purpose and if they could continue to hold on to God, the people would rejoice with them.
The Governor stated that a lot was expected of appointees as people would want to see the impact that they could make, pointing out that it was only the wisdom of God that would help them achieve results.
Congratulating Honourable Onwo, the Governor called on the people of Olomoro to support him, especially with prayers as his achievements would open more doors for political appointments, considering the fact that Honourable Onwo is the first indigene of the community to occupy such a position.
Governor Okowa, who was enthused by the large turnout of people at the thanksgiving also called for prayers for the state and the country for things to get better for the people.
Earlier in a sermon, Venerable Robert Oziwele of the Anglican Communion, observed that God used people to work for Him at every point in time, stating that political positions should be used to serve God.
In his remarks, Honourable Onwo said the thanksgiving was necessary to return the glory to God and commended Governor Okowa for providing effective leadership in the state.
