TAKEME COMMENDS OKOWA’s DEVELOPMENT STRIDES; WANTS LEADERS TO CRITICISE CONSTRUCTIVELY

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has been commended for his commitment to spreading development to all parts of the state.

The immediate past State Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Chief Jullius Takeme who gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen in Asaba, urgedĀ  leaders in the state to be fair and constructive in their criticisms.

Reacting to a recent statement credited to a political leader in his Burutu local government area, Chief Takeme admonished the Governor not to be distracted in extending more dividends of democracy to the people of Delta Ijaw.

He said the effort of Senator Okowa to right the wrong of the past, especially as it affected the riverine communities in the state particularly Burutu local government area was commendable.

The former Commissioner noted that the recent outburst by a political leader in Burutu local government area was unfortunate, stressing that Elder Orubebe must have spoken in anger and out of frustration.

Chief Takeme added that the attack on the Okowa administration was unwarranted, uncalled for and malicious, pointing out that even the worst critics could testify that Okowa had done well as Governor of Delta State.

He advised those with negative intentions against the Governor to retrace their steps in the interest of the state and join forces with the state government to build a stronger Delta State.

Chief Takeme, who said the people of Burutu would remain grateful to Okowa for the projects executed in the locality during his first tenure, said more were being expected in the second tenure of his administration.

He assured the Governor of the support of the people of Burutu at all times.

Chief Takeme congratulated the recently sworn in political appointees and urged them to put in their best to achieve a better and more developed Delta State.
